Offwind sizes its controls and numbers by how large they are on the glass, not by pixels. A button is the same physical size on every iPhone, big enough to hit on a moving boat. If that is still not right for your mount, your eyes or your gloves, change it here.
Interface size
Interface size in Settings › Cockpit scales everything together: buttons, text, fields and the gaps between them, and the system text size with them.
- Open Settings. On a phone it is under More.
- Interface size. Use the stepper. It moves in steps of 5 %, from 75 % up to the largest this screen can hold.
- Reset interface size goes back to 100 %. It appears once you have changed the size.
The largest size depends on the phone, since the bottom bar's four items must still fit across the screen. On a 6.7-inch phone that is 130 %.
Glove mode
Turn on Glove mode (Settings › Cockpit) when you are sailing in gloves. It makes:
- every control a quarter larger again;
- long presses take at least 800 ms;
- a page swipe need a longer, deliberate drag of about two and a half centimeters;
- the edge swipe that goes back turn off, so a gloved thumb at the screen's edge does nothing by accident.
Because the controls are larger, glove mode can lower the largest interface size the screen can hold. If your chosen size no longer fits, Settings says so, for example 130 % chosen; this screen holds 115 % with glove mode.
Long press
Long press (Settings › Cockpit) sets how long a press and hold takes, from 500 ms to 1000 ms. A longer press is harder to trigger by accident in a seaway.
Large text
Offwind follows the text size you set for your iPhone in the iOS Settings app. Headers, lists, Settings and captions grow with it, and wrap or scroll rather than cutting words off. The instrument fields keep their own size, which you set with the data size in the field editor.
