When you are signed in, Offwind sends each recording to your Offwind account when it finishes. One switch controls it.
The switch
Open Settings and look at the first section, Account: Upload finished tracks to my Offwind account.
- Signed in, it is on until you turn it off.
- Signed out, it is off and cannot be changed. It says Sign in to upload tracks.
Your choice is kept: if you turn it off, sign out and sign in again, it stays off.
What it does
- On. Each recording that finishes from now on is queued for upload. It goes in pieces, so a dropped link resumes where it stopped instead of starting again. More › Link shows what is waiting in the outbox.
- Off. Recordings stay on the phone only. Turning it off cancels the uploads not yet sent; the recordings themselves are not touched.
It only looks forward. A recording that finished while the switch was off is not uploaded when you turn it on again; export it instead (see Export a recording).
Signing out cancels nothing: a queued upload waits and sends when you sign in to the same account again.
What it does not cover
- Imported tracks are never uploaded.
- Live position sharing with a project, and man overboard position reports, are separate and carry on whatever the switch says.
- Recordings on the phone stay until you delete them or delete the app.
